Troubleshooting ProDOC-IT Printer Issues: Resolving Stuck Print Jobs
If the ProDOC-IT printer stops working and print jobs get stuck in the printer queue, the issue may be caused by the Virtual Print Driver (VPD) service stopping. For ProDOC-IT to print correctly, the VPD service must be running. Follow the steps below to check the status of the VPD service and ensure it is functioning properly.
Open Windows Services Manager.
Scroll down the list of services and locate VPDAgent.
In the Status column, ensure that VPDAgent is listed as Running.
If VPDAgent is not running, click Start on the left side of the menu to restart the service.
To automatically restart the service if it fails in the future:
Right-click on VPDAgent and select Properties.
Go to the Recovery tab.
In the First Failure dropdown, select Restart the Service.
Do the same for the Second Failure.
Set Subsequent Failures to Take No Action to avoid the service from continuously restarting in a loop.
Click Apply and then OK to save the settings.
Following these steps will help resolve issues with ProDOC-IT and ensure that the Virtual Print Driver service is running correctly for future print jobs.
