Common Printer Issues & Solutions

Use the steps below to resolve most ProDOC printing errors. After each step, test the printer. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.
If none of these solutions work, contact our Support Team for further assistance.

Step 1: Ensure the Correct Printer is Selected

  1. Locate the ProDOC icon (P icon) in the Windows system tray (bottom right).

  2. Right-click the P icon, then select Setup.

  3. In the General tab, check the selected printer under Receipts Printer or Forms Printer.

  4. If the wrong printer is selected:

    • Click the ellipses (...) next to the printer field.

    • Select the correct printer from the list.

    • Click OK and Save your changes.

  5. Close the settings and attempt to print again.

Step 2: Clear IXI Files

If the correct printer is selected but printing still fails:

  1. Open File Explorer and go to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\RDIWork\PrivPdoc

  2. Look for any IXI files that include the name of the printer.

  3. Delete those IXI files.

  4. Close ProDOC completely.

  5. Reopen ProDOC and try printing again.

Step 3: Perform a ProDOC INI Swap (Admins Only)

If issues persist, an administrator may need to perform a ProDOC INI swap.

Important:

  • Do not proceed unless you are familiar with this process.

  • Always back up the current INI file before making changes.

  1. Replace the existing INI file with a working backup.

  2. Restart ProDOC.

  3. Test printing again.
